| Greetings from the chairman | Thank you for visiting HP. My name is Sachitoyo Fujima. Ureshino Onsen once had 200 geisha members from the 1970s to the 1980s. However, the number of parlors is decreasing year by year, and the number of geisha is decreasing with it. At the same time, there were a number of problems, such as the lack of a younger generation (successor). In order to respond to the changes of these times, we established the Ureshino Traditional Performing Arts Preservation Society with the cooperation of many people with the aim of inheriting the geisha culture as a traditional performing art. First of all, we will make efforts to revitalize the town of Ureshino together, such as holding training sessions for Fujima Ryu-Nibu dance for the general public, and providing opportunities for people who want to dance as geisha to participate in various events.
